A field of strong athletes turned out for the Otago Championships on a cool and clear day. Competitors in the Championship race completing 4 laps of the run course, 4 laps on the bike course and finished off with another two laps of the run course for a total race distance of 10km/40km/5km.

Rob Creasy and Chris Keogh pushed the pace from the outset, both coming in under the 2 hour mark. Katie Menzie was a class above in the womens field and pushing the top men to come in 4th overall. Anthony Rowcroft took out the Vet Males category and Lesley Stevens breaking the 3 hour mark to win Vet Women.

A hand full of athletes also raced a short course (5/20/2.5), with Bronte Tennant taking line honours.

Congratulations also to Olivia Moon and Aaron Giller who both took home $200 Frontrunner vouchers for the series draw for athletes who competed or mashaled at 4 of the 5 winter races (including the adventure race).
